HOTELS

Riga has a lot to offer, you can trust booking.com, Tripadvisors reviews and ratings. One possibility is to stay in the Old City - it is lively, with lots of cafes, restaurants, live music etc. Our guests have enjoyed Konventa Seta hotel, Radi un Draugi is a solid budget option. I do encourage you to check out other options with the Old City. The other possibility is to choose Bellevue Park hotel on the same side of the river as the University campuses. It's a bit pricey but on the edge of the "Uzvaras" (Victory) Park, 10 minutes walk to the "old campus" (through the park), 15-20 minutes walk to the "new campus" (or 2 tram stops + 5 min walk), trams no. 1, 2 and 5 to the Old City every 5-10 min or less.

TRANSPORT

For public transport your buy orange tickets with pre-set number of rides (1, 5, 10 etc) either from kiosks (Narvesen chain, also at the airport) or from machines (at the airport bus no 22 stop, outside the terminals, across the parking lots). The newer trams (line no. 1) also have ticket machines on them. You can also buy a ticket from the driver with cash but it costs more (2 EUR).
If you prefer taxis (not too expensive, airport-city entre ride ~ 10-15 EUR), you can trust the green ones (Baltic Taxi, always by the meter, accept credit cards). You can order a taxi any time day and night +371 20 008500 - either immediately, or for a specific time.
